Hi All,

Here is my writing for First Central’s Congregationalist this week.

Spring Is the Time To Move and Stretch
How are your joints feeling? Each season seems to be able to bring different sensations and sometimes pain to our joints. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the muscles, tendons (which attach muscles to bones) and ligaments (which attach bones to bones) are a part of the liver organ system. The liver organ system along with the gall bladder organ system are the two systems that may often appear with issues in springtime. Spring is also a time to strengthen these systems. One daily practice that can be immensely helpful especially, in springtime, is to start gently moving and stretching the body — much like the earth’s plants, trees and flower are doing outside.

Join us for the Monthly Donation-Only Gentle Movement Class in the back of the Sanctuary this Sunday, April 17th, from 11:40 a.m.-12:25 p.m. Practice this idea of beginning to move and stretch the body after a long winter. We will also be reviewing posture in sitting, standing and walking and how posture can affect the joints, as well as the back, muscles, organs and general health and energy and even life span!
